Public Profile & QR Code

Your public profile is a simple contact page at booked55.com/profile/your-username with your photo, company logo, contact details and links. It comes with a QR code that opens the page, so someone you meet can scan it with their phone camera and save your details, or send you theirs. It is off until you turn it on.

The mobile app also has a scanner that reads other people's QR codes, whether theirs is a Booked55 profile, a contact card, or a link page like Linktree, and turns them into a contact after you review it.

Turning it on

You can create, edit and turn off your public profile in the web app or the mobile app.

• Web app — open your Profile and choose the Public profile & QR code tab.
• Mobile app — tap your picture in the top-right corner, or open Profile and tap Public profile & QR code.

Choose Create my public profile. The form starts filled in with your name, email, phone and organization name, and a suggested username. Change anything you like, then choose Turn on. Nothing is public until you do.

What the page can show

Blank fields are left off the page. There is no field for other networks or extra links. The page also has:

• Save contact — adds you to the visitor's phone contacts.
• Save to Booked55 — for a visitor who uses Booked55: opens their Add contact form in the web app, filled in with your details (see below).
• Call and Email buttons, when you have filled those in.
• Share your details — a short form a visitor can use to send you their own details (see below). You can turn it off.

Photo and logo

• Profile photo — cropped to a square. On the web, use a PNG, JPG or WebP image up to 5 MB. On the phone, take a photo or pick one from your library.
• Company logo — your organization's logo is used until you upload your own. If you remove the logo, the page shows none until you upload one; it does not go back to your organization's logo.

Photos and logos are saved as soon as you upload them.

Your username

A username is 3 to 30 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, not starting or ending with a hyphen. Some words are reserved. The form tells you as you type whether a name is free.

• Changing it keeps old links working — a printed QR code, wallet pass, NFC card or link you shared with your old username keeps opening your page.
• Usernames are never reused — once you have used a username, no one else can take it, even after you change yours or turn your page off.
• One page per organization — if you belong to more than one organization, each has its own public profile, username and QR code.

Sharing your QR code

• Mobile app — tap your picture in the top-right corner to show your QR code full size, ready to be scanned. Your last QR code shows even without a signal. Share sends your link.
• Web app — Copy link, Open the page, or Download QR (PNG) to print it on a badge, flyer or business card.
• Home screen shortcut — press and hold the Booked55 app icon and choose My QR code.

A QR code for one event

At an event, choose Tag an event under your QR code and pick the event. The code then reads For <event name>, and details people send through it are linked to that event: each new contact is added to the event, as well as to your contacts. Remove goes back to your everyday code. You can tag any event you can see in Booked55.

The event QR code opens the same public page. Only the Share your details form behaves differently, so someone who scans it after the event can still save you.

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet

Choose Add to Apple Wallet on an iPhone or Add to Google Wallet on Android to keep your QR code on a wallet pass, one tap from the lock screen. The pass shows your name, job title, company and photo, and its QR code opens your public profile.

• The pass is a copy — changing your name, title, company or photo later does not change a pass you already added. Add it again to get the new details.
• The QR code keeps working — it opens your page through your username, so it follows a username change, and stops working while your page is turned off.
• The buttons only appear once your public profile is on.

NFC business cards

In the mobile app, choose Write to an NFC card and hold a blank, writable NFC card, sticker or key fob to the back of your phone. Booked55 writes your profile link onto it. After that, anyone who taps their phone on the card opens your public page; they don't need the Booked55 app. Your phone needs NFC to write the card.

Receiving people's details

Your public page has a Share your details form. A visitor opens it, fills in their name and an email address or phone number (company, job title and a message are optional), ticks that they agree to share their details, and chooses Send my details. What they send becomes a contact in your Booked55:

• A new contact, assigned to you, with the source Public profile.
• A note on the contact with what they sent, including their message.
• A notification: “<name> shared their details”.
• The event, when they opened your page through an event QR code.

If one of your contacts already has the same email address, or else the same phone number, Booked55 adds the note to that contact instead of creating a second one. Nothing already on the contact is changed.

To stop receiving details, turn off Let people send you their details in your public profile, on the web or in the app. The form disappears from your page; the rest of the page stays up.

Saving someone's profile to your Booked55

When someone shows you their Booked55 QR code or sends you their link:

• On your phone, with the Booked55 app — scanning the code with your camera, or tapping the link, opens it straight in the app, ready to add them. If you are signed out, the app shows who they are and asks you to log in; after you log in, it takes you back to them. The app opens Booked55 profile links on iPhone and Android alike.
• In a browser — choose Save to Booked55 on their page. The web app's Add contact form opens with their details filled in (after you sign in, if you weren't already). Review it and save.

Scanning QR codes

In the mobile app, tap + and choose Scan QR code, or press and hold the Booked55 app icon and choose Scan QR code. Point the camera at the other person's QR code. The first time, the app asks for camera access. Scanning is in the mobile app only; the web app cannot scan.

1. If someone in your contacts already has the same email or phone, you see Already in your contacts, and can Open contact or Add anyway.
2. The Add contact form opens with their name, email, phone and company filled in. Their job title and links are listed underneath, where you can remove any you don't want.
3. Review the form and save. Nothing is created until you do.
4. Choose Scan next to go straight back to the camera, or Open contact.

Scanning at an event

Tap No event under the scanner's title and pick the event you are at. Every contact you save from the scanner is then added to that event too, until you clear it. The app remembers the event between scans, so you can work through a queue with Scan next.

Sending your details back

When you add someone from their Booked55 QR code or link and your own public profile is on, the Add contact form shows Send <name> my details. Turn it on and, when you save, your public profile is filed into their Booked55 as a contact too, and they get a notification: “<your name> shared their profile with you”. Nothing is sent unless you turn it on; the app remembers your choice for next time. It isn't offered when the other person has turned off Let people send you their details.

Turning it off

Choose Turn off. Your page and QR code stop working until you turn the page back on (the change can take up to ten minutes to reach everyone). So do your wallet pass and NFC cards, which open the same page. Your username and details stay saved, and turning it back on brings the same link and QR code back.

Your page also stops working if you leave the organization or the organization is deleted. If Booked55 disables a profile, the tab shows a notice instead of the form, and you cannot turn it back on yourself; contact support.

Privacy

• Anyone with your link or QR code can see what you put on the page. Only add details you are happy to share.
• Your page is not listed in search engines.
• Nothing else from Booked55 — your contacts, pipelines or activity — is ever shown on it.
• Details sent through Share your details go only to you, in the organization the page belongs to.
• When you scan a code that links to a web page, Booked55's servers open that page to read the details. The person you scanned is not told.
