Event Attendance

The event detail page tracks who you met at an event: the Contacts at this Event table lists every contact linked to it. On a recurring event, the Attendance card also records which dates were attended. This is essential for post-event follow-up and measuring event ROI.

When attendance is recorded

  • Single-day and multi-day events — Attendance is recorded for you when the event is created: one record for each day of the event, in the name of the person who created it. These events have no Attendance card, and there is nothing to mark.
  • Recurring events — The first date is recorded when the event is created. For each later occurrence, click Mark Attendance in the Attendance card on the right of the event page and pick the date. In the mobile app, use the Attendance section's Mark button, or Mark attendance in the event's menu.

Adding contacts to an event

There are two ways to add contacts as attendees:

  • From the event detail page — Click “Add Contact” on the Contacts at this Event table, then choose “Create New Contact” or “Add Existing Contact.” Add Existing Contact lets you search for existing contacts by name or email and add them to the event.
  • From the contacts list — On the Contacts page, click the “Change event” action on a contact row to link them to an event.

In the mobile app, tap Add contact at the bottom of the event. Add existing contact lists your most recently added contacts first, newest at the top; search by name, email or phone to find anyone else, tick the people you want and add them in one go. Create new contact opens the usual ways to add someone — scan cards, scan a QR code, pick from your phone, or type them in — and whichever you choose, the new contact is linked to the event.

Contacts at this Event

The Contacts at this Event table lists every contact linked to the event, with their email and phone, pipeline and stage, and number of deals. Click a name to open their contact detail page. The number in the table's title is the event's total, and the same count is shown next to the event name on the events list.

Searching an event's contacts

The Search contacts box above the table searches only this event's contacts, by name, email or phone number, as you type (from two characters). It shows up to 50 matches on one page; clear the box to see the full list again. While a search is showing, the header checkbox selects just the matching contacts, not every contact at the event.

In the mobile app, the same search box sits at the top of the event page, under the event's name and date.

Notes on an attendance record

When you mark attendance on a recurring event, the date is required and a note is optional. What you type there is filed as the first note on that attendance record — a dated entry with your name on it, not a field on the row.

That matters because an attendance note used to be a single box of text: the next person to edit it overwrote what the last person had written, and nothing said who wrote either version. Notes are a list now. You can add another note to the same attendance afterwards, and correct one without destroying the earlier text; each keeps its own author and date, and editing or deleting is limited to whoever wrote it, plus owners and managers.

The attendance record itself — the date — is not editable after the fact. If the date is wrong, delete the record and mark attendance again. Notes about the event as a whole, rather than about one person's attendance, belong in the Event Notes card on the event page.

Bulk adding attendees

If you receive an attendee list from an event organizer, you can CSV import those contacts first, then link them to the event using the “Change event” action. While there is no direct CSV-to-event import, the two-step process handles bulk attendance efficiently.

Impact on Scoreboard

Events attended is one of the six metrics tracked on the Scoreboard. Each event you attend (as logged in the system) contributes to your overall performance score.
