Campaign Results

Once a campaign has sent, its detail page shows what happened to every email: who opened it, which links they clicked, who replied and how the reply reads, which addresses bounced, and who unsubscribed. You can filter the contacts by any of these and export exactly what you filtered as a CSV file.

The summary

At the top of the contacts section, two cards sum up the whole campaign:

  • Delivery — how many were sent, then the Open rate, Click rate, Reply rate and Bounce rate (each with its count out of those sent), and how many Unsubscribed;
  • Replies — how many people replied, split into Positive, Neutral, Negative and Auto-reply, beside the Links clicked list.

Click any of these figures to filter the list to those people, and click it again to clear it. The numbers always cover the whole campaign, so they do not change while you filter the list below them.

Replied counts people. An out-of-office or any other automatic answer is counted under Auto-reply instead.

Opens

An email counts as opened when the recipient's email app loads its images, or when they click a tracked link. Treat opens as a signal rather than proof: some apps block images, so a real read goes uncounted, and some load every image automatically, so an unread email can count as opened.

Link clicks

Booked55 records which links each person clicked in broadcasts, newsletter issues and drip campaigns. You write and design the email exactly as usual — there is nothing to switch on and nothing to change in your links.

When the email is sent, each link is quietly pointed at a short Booked55 address that records the click and sends the reader straight on to your page. The reader still sees your link as you wrote it, and lands where you intended. This covers:

  • ordinary links and buttons;
  • images that are links, such as a banner or a video thumbnail;
  • web addresses typed straight into the text, such as https://example.com, which become clickable.

Email links (mailto:), phone links, links to a place on the same page, and your unsubscribe link are left exactly as they are. Up to 50 different links per email are tracked.

The Links clicked list on the campaign page shows the email's links, most clicked first, each with its number of clicks and of different people who clicked. When the email has more than ten links, the ten most clicked are listed; the Link clicked filter still offers all of them. Click a link to see who clicked it.

Reply outcomes

When someone replies, Booked55 reads the reply in the conversation it belongs to and gives it one of four outcomes:

OutcomeWhat it means
PositiveThey are interested, agree, ask for a next step, book a time, or give you what you asked for — the referral, the introduction, the answer.
NeutralNon-committal: "we'll let you know if anything comes up", "not right now, maybe later", a thank-you, a question with no commitment, or "I've passed this on to a colleague".
NegativeThey decline, say they are not interested, are annoyed, or ask you to stop emailing.
Auto-replyA machine answered, not a person. It never counts as a reply, whatever it says.

The outcome is judged against what your email asked for. If you asked for a referral and they answer “we'll let you know if anyone comes to mind”, that is Neutral — not a no. Only the new text of the reply is read, never the quoted copy of your own email beneath it. If an out-of-office arrives first and the person replies later, the person's reply decides the outcome.

Replies classified before this change were marked only favourable or not favourable. They are re-read automatically with the four outcomes, at no cost to your AI credits.

Correcting an outcome

If an outcome is wrong, click it in the contacts list and choose the right one. An outcome you set is marked as set by you, and Booked55 never changes it again, even when the person replies once more. The same works on a sequence contact's emails.

Correcting an Auto-reply to Positive, Neutral or Negative tells Booked55 a person really did answer: it counts under Replied from then on, and a sequence set to stop when someone replies stops for that contact. Correcting a reply to Auto-reply takes it out of the Replied count. Only an email that got an answer has an outcome to set.

Automatic replies

An automatic reply is one a machine sent on the person's behalf. Booked55 recognises them from the technical markers mail systems attach and from their wording, in many languages. Each one gets a type, and the useful detail it contains — a return date, a new address, who to contact instead — is shown beside it.

TypeWhat it meansStops a sequence
Out of officeAway, on leave or travelling. The return date is shown when the message gives one.No
Left the companyThe person no longer works there. Who to contact instead is shown when the message names someone.Yes
Changed addressThis address is retired. The new address is shown when the message gives one.Yes
Automatic acknowledgement"We received your message", a ticket number, "we reply within 48 hours".No
Sender verificationA filtering service asking you to prove you are a person before your email is delivered.No
Unmonitored mailboxA no-reply address, or "this inbox is not monitored".Yes
Other automatic replyClearly automated, but none of the above.No

A sequence set to stop when someone replies stops for a real reply, and for the three automatic replies above that mean nobody will ever read the next email. An out-of-office does not stop it: the person is coming back. Read receipts count as an open, never as a reply.

Unsubscribes

Broadcasts, newsletter issues and sequence emails carry an unsubscribe link. A contact counts as unsubscribed from a campaign when they used the link in that campaign's email. Emails sent from a connected Gmail account also offer Gmail's own Unsubscribe button next to your name, which works the same way.

A person who writes back asking you to stop — “please take me off your list” — is unsubscribed too: the reply is marked Negative and flagged as having asked to stop, and any sequence they are in ends.

Bounces

Because campaigns go out from your own Gmail or Outlook account, a bounce comes back to your inbox as a “could not be delivered” notice. Booked55 reads those notices when it syncs your mailbox, matches each one to the email that failed, and marks it:

TypeWhat happenedEffect
Hard bounceThe address or its domain does not exist, or the mailbox is disabled.The address is marked as bad. Booked55 stops sending to it (see below).
Soft bounceA temporary problem, such as a full mailbox or a server that was down.Only this email is marked. Later emails still go out.
BlockedThe receiving server refused the email by policy, or as spam.Only this email is marked. Later emails still go out.

Hover a bounce in the list to read the reason the receiving server gave. Notices that only say delivery is delayed are ignored, since the email may still arrive.

After a hard bounce, Booked55 stops emailing that address for you:

  • new broadcasts and newsletter issues leave the contact out and list them under Not sent with the reason “Email address bounced”;
  • any sequence they are in ends with the status Bounced.

To email them again, correct the email address on the contact. A new address is not affected by the old one's bounce.

When bounce detection is first switched on for a mailbox, Booked55 also reads the last 90 days of bounce notices in it, so earlier campaigns show their bounces too.

Filtering the contacts

Above the contacts list, narrow it down by any combination of:

  • Send status — sent, queued, sending or failed;
  • Opened — opened or not opened;
  • Clicked — clicked a link or no clicks;
  • Link clicked — the people who clicked one particular link;
  • Replied — replied or no reply;
  • Reply outcome — positive, neutral, negative, auto-reply, or no outcome;
  • Automatic reply type — for example everyone who is out of office;
  • Bounced — bounced or delivered;
  • Unsubscribed — unsubscribed or still subscribed;
  • a search box — a name or email address.

Clicked and Link clicked appear only when the email had links that were tracked, and Automatic reply type only while the reply outcome is set to any outcome or to auto-reply.

For example, set the reply outcome to Neutral to find the people worth a gentle follow-up, or Clicked a link with No reply for the people who showed interest but never wrote back.

Exporting to CSV

Export CSV downloads the list as it is currently filtered, one row per contact that was emailed, with their details and everything above: opened, clicks and which links, replied, outcome, auto-reply type and detail, bounce type and reason, and unsubscribed. An export holds up to 10,000 rows.
